You can find us in two different locations: at the University Dortmund (TU Dortmund) and at the Fraunhofer ISST. Both offices are located at the northern part of the TU Dortmund campus. They are within 10 minutes walking distance from each other.

The majority of our offices is located at the second floor of Otto-Hahn-Straße 12 (on the map: building 17c). Other offices can be found at the first floor of Otto-Hahn-Straße 14 (building 17b). The hallways are directly connected with each other.
The closest bus stops are "Meitnerweg" and "Joseph-v.-Fraunhofer-Str.". Parking lots can be found along the roadside.

Airports
Dortmund has its own small airport. Check the available connections here.
Dusseldorf is the closest larger airport. Check connections here. You can get from the airport to the university via train. The suburban train takes 70 minutes and departs every 20-30 minutes. Check the schedule here (enter from: "Düsseldorf, Flughafen Bahnhof", to: "Dortmund, Universität S").
The airport in Frankfurt (Main) is the busiest one in Germany. From here you can take the Intercity Express (ICE) to Dortmund main station. This train departs every hour and takes about 2 hours and 10 minutes. Check the schedule here (enter from: "Frankfurt(M) Flughafen Fernbf", to: "Dortmund Hbf").

For travelling within Dortmund and its neighbouring cities visit Metropolitan transport Rhein-Ruhr (VRR).
The easiest way to get from Dortmund main station to the university grounds is to use the suburban train "S1". It departs every 20-30 minutes from platform 7 at the main station and reaches the campus within a few minutes. You can check the connection with VRR (enter from: "Dortmund Hbf", to: "Dortmund, Universität S").
There are many hotels in Dortmund (Google Maps with hotels). Suitable hotels close to the campus include Tryp Dortmund, Ibis Dortmund West, and B&B Hotel Dortmund-Messe.

Please note that for your hotel costs to be reimbursed via TU Dortmund, the relevant bill / receipt must include the addressee "Fakultaet Informatik, TU Dortmund", as well as your name. This only applies to hotel receipts and obviously not to travel reimbursed via Fraunhofer ISST.
Since 2010 the city of Dortmund charges an accommodation tax of 5% on hotel accommodation. This does not include business travellers. To not have to pay this tax, you should mention when reserving the room that you are indeed on a business trip. This applies to visitors to both TU Dortmund and Fraunhofer ISST.
